JMA: Black Swan {MASTER BATH}

Today I'm sharing the final design mood board for #jmablackswan. While every room in the house is getting a full overhaul, the bedrooms are going to be more about the furniture and less about the finishes, but the overall vibe will remain the same; white paint, wood walls, etc...

So without further ado, lets talk about the master bathroom. As you can see (from above) it's going to be GLORIOUS!!! This room might be my favorite so far, it's a little boho, a little luxe and so perfectly me. This room was in pretty bad shape before: textured walls, bad wallpaper, carpeted floors and worst of all no door into the bathroom. Yes, that's right, I said no door. WTF?! Who wants to have their master bedroom open right on up to the bathroom? So gross right? Although as I'm typing this I'm thinking it might be nice to stare into this little jewel box every morning. Ha!

Anyway, let's move on to the before photo.

So here's the plan for creating my black, white and gold dreamland.

Floors: I chose this graphic hex tile from the Cement Tile Shop which looks amazing when installed. This is going to be the flooring throughout with the exception of the shower floor which I wanted something more slip resistant. In the shower I chose a black hex mosaic from Daltile that complimented the cement tile nicely. Fyi for the shower curb and bench I went with the 8 x 8 cement tiles in solid black.

Walls: I chose a 2 x 8 glossy white subway tile in a herringbone pattern for all the walls. I am ao excited for this simple yet clean look.

Vanity: This piece was custom built to fit the recess I created for it. I know this had to be a custom cabinet from the beginning because it was just going to be to difficult to find a cabinet off the shelf that was going to look and feel just right. I'm all for off the shelf pieces when needed, but in some cases you just have to bite the bullet and spend a little more to get things to look right. I went with a satin black finish and gold pulls (inspiration via here).The counter top is going to be the same Ceaserstone I have throughout the house since the material is sold by the slab I should have some extra to finish up this space. The sinks had to be slightly on the smaller side to accommodate 2 of them, and these Kathryn sinks by Kohler were perfect. Lastly, for the mirrors, I went with 2 of these hex mirrors from West Elm. I am so in love with them... and while it took months of back order notifications, they were well worth the wait.

Lighting: on either side of the vanity I have pendant fixtures from Cedar & Moss to add something a little different than the standard vanity light. To be honest they are more decorative than functional, but I'm ok with that.

Plumbing: All the plumbing for this space came from Kohler. I've been in love with their Purist collection in Moderne Brushed Gold for years, so I was thrilled to finally be able to use it in my own home. For the shower I went with this and for the sink faucets I chose these

Bathroom Accessories: For all the bathroom accessories I went with the Amerock Arrondi collection. They had all the pieces I needed and the finishes were a perfect match to the rest of the design.

Shower Enclosure: For the shower door/ hinges I went with CRL. Their hinges are clean and simple and pretty minimal which I love.

And there you have it... a dream bathroom fit for a queen.
