05.16.2012 Fresh Summer Face

Since I did a round up of some of my favorite scents last week, I thought I'd follow it up with a few of my favorite beauty products for summer. Clearly you can tell that corals and peaches are always my go-to colors.

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Mother's Day weekend. I just wanted to share a little feature on Refinery29 that was posted last week, just in case you missed it. The concept behind the shoot was to get some stylish LA ladies to play dress-up in their even more stylish mother's closets. My sister and I had a blast! Here are just a few of my favorite shots. What do you think? Wanna come play?!

With Mother's Day only a few days away I thought I'd dedicate my Friday post to all the beautiful mothers out there. I'm so grateful to have such a loving, supportive, talented, super-mum in my life. Mummy, I'd like to thank you for all your hard work and encouragement. You are my number one fan! I love you more than the stars in the sky and grains of sand in the ocean. I'm so lucky to also have both amazing grandmothers who love and spoil me all the time, and a wonderful mother-in-law. There is nothing better than being surrounded by strong exceptional women. So to all those lovely mother's out there have a spectacular weekend and Mother's Day! xoxo

I'm often stopped by strangers, both men and women, and asked what perfume I am wearing. I love mixing up my scents depending on my mood, but I always have my go to favorites. I decided to do a little round-up of my top 6 scents for women and men. By the way, Mother's Day is just around the corner... and some of these would make for a perfect little gift. And like Mme. Chanel always said, "A women who doesn't wear perfume has no future."

This past week was crazier than usual over at our house. On top of my regular work load I also co-hosted a Cinco De Mayo themed baby shower for one of my dear friends, who is expecting twin boys in just a few months. I of course was in charge of decor. Above are a few snapshots of what was a pretty blank canvas transformed into a color explosion. I basically lived under stacks of tissue paper, ribbon and balloons for about a week, and the result in my opinion... spectacular. I hand made every little detail with love. Just in case you were wondering here is the tutorial for tissue paper pom poms, and one for those lovely colorful tissue paper tassle garlands.

Things have been crazier than ever over at J.Marx Atelier. Lot's of exciting new changes and projects that I can't wait to share with you all. For now here is a sneak peek of a mood board I created for Shoedazzle. I was contacted a few months ago by Shoedazzle, after meeting the head of design in New York, to design their new offices in Santa Monica, CA. It's definitely been one of the girliest projects I've ever worked on... I mean, when else will I be able to create a pink space from top to bottom?!? I love it! I'll be sure to share some progress photos as the project moves along. For now enjoy these inspiration images of what's to come.

While I don't have any four legged friends of my own, I thought these adorable pieces from Mungo & Maud were just too good to keep to myself. They have so many chic little items for cats, dogs, and even their two-legged companion friends.

I can't believe today is my big 3.0. Time really does fly, but, I am thrilled to be out of my 20's and ready for some majorly fun stuff to happen in my 30's. I could not have made it this far without the love and encouragement of my family, friends, my dear hubby, and all my awesome readers, what a wonderful support team. I feel like one lucky gal. Thank you so much! Here are a few photos that remind me of some spectacular times I had hamming it up as a little lady... enjoy!
Happy Birthday to Moi! xo

The other night while out to dinner, a friend mentioned a new creamery that opened just down the street from us, Neuveux Artisan Creamery. Well, little did she know that I had been seriously craving some good home-made ice cream for weeks. So, the first thing I did was rush on over and get myself a scoop... or two. And I have to say it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had, hands down. Toasted marshmallow and strawberry balsamic were a perfect combo, but the flavor options were endless, see some of the other flavors here. I wish I could have snapped some photos, but the trip was so unexpected I didn't even have a camera on me. I can't wait to go back and try some new sweet creations.

First off I want to apologize for the lack of posts lately. I've been busy juggling what feels like a million Hermès boxes, but unfortunately it doesn't look this glamorous. I have a few very exciting commercial projects starting construction this month and I can't wait to share them with you. Plus, in less then a week I'll be celebrating my 30th Birthday! 29 for me was a pretty amazing year, but I'm really excited to see what 30 has in store. I have so many wonderful little gems I've been saving up, now I just need to squeeze a little time to share them. I'm hoping I'll have a little more time after the holidays... we'll see. Who knows maybe it's time for a part time intern?!?
Happy Passover & Happy Easter!

As an early birthday present my mum brought me back a pair of these AMAZING leather leggings by DROMe from Italy. I'm really not sure how I lived so long without them. I was so smitten with them that I decided to pop on over and see what the new spring/summer collection had in store. I adore it all... but those blush leather leggings need to be mine! If you've been in the market for a pair of leather leggings these should definitely be at the top of your list. Perfection!

You may remember this little beauty I designed last year for Gold Hawk. Well, I'm so thrilled with the way this mini version came out. She made her debut in New York last month during fashion week and she was just too amazing not to share. You can see more photos of this glamorous steamer trunk at J. Marx Atelier and some mood boards for a new residential project I've been working on here.

A few weeks ago while on a short business trip to NY I made a little time to run into ABC Carpet & Home. I could barely handle all the gorgeousness around me, and my camera is full of lovely new spring inspirations. But by far my favorite little discovery were these amazing plush pieces by Tamar Mogendorff. The use of basic linens and glamorous sequins killed me. I love that adorable deer head and I would hang it anywhere in our home.
