Today I'm sharing a final design plan mood board for #jmablackswan. While every room is getting a full overhaul, the bedrooms are more about the furniture and less about the finishes. In general it's more of the same; white paint, wood walls, etc... So without further ado, we're talking about the master bathroom today. As you can see it's going to be GLORIOUS!!! This room might be my favorite so far, it's a little boho a little luxe and so perfectly me. The before was something else, textured walls, more bad wallpaper, carpeted floors and worst of all no door into the bathroom. Yes, that's right, I said no door. WTF?! Who wants to have their master bedroom open right on up to the bathroom? So gross right? Although as I'm typing this I'm thinking it might be nice to stare into this little jewel box every morning. Ha!

Anyway, let's move on to the before photo.

JMA: Black Swan {GUEST BATH}

Today we're talking about the guest bathroom reno... basically the baby's bathroom. When we purchased the home the guest bathroom layout was terrible and totally not functional for a family with a small baby. There was a tiny standing shower and no tub, which just wasn't going to work for us. Fortunately, the bathroom was large enough to accommodate a tub, it just needed a little reworking, which in my opinion made the space infinitely more functional. Other than reworking the layout, clearly the finishes needed a complete overhaul as well. Here's what's going on...

JMA: Black Swan {Powder Room}

This week we're talking about the powder room. It may be small but I have big plans for this tiny space. Keeping with the same vibe as the rest of the house this bathroom will be, as expected, black white and gold... obviously!

JMA: Black Swan {Kitchen}

Let's talk kitchens! I am most excited about this room for many many reasons... primarily because the kitchen I've been living with for the past 6 years is completely useless. I can't wait to have a functioning space where I can finally cook a meal without wanting to rip my hair out. It's going to be a dream to be able to host people comfortably, I can't wait. Here's the plan, NEW EVERYTHING!!

Continue on to find out the glourious plans for my future kitchen as well as some photos of what's there now!

JMA: Black Swan {Living/ Dining Room}

Hey Guys! I'm back again with a little Black Swan Update. Every week I'm going to break down the design room by room starting with the living/dining area. Currently this space is a whole lot of ugly... mirrored walls, bad carpet and funky textured walls and ceilings, Yuk! But I have big dreams for this entertaining space.

JMA: Black Swan

Hello, Hello! I'm so excited to share some really HUGE news. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me mention that my husband and I just bought our first home.... eeeek! But before you get too excited it's a real piece of work. While we loved the amount of space, layout, lighting, etc... the interiors left little to be desired. The previous owner moved in in the early 70's and never did any updating at all. And we're not talkig about cool design 70's, we're talking carpet in the bathrooms 70's, wtf? The plus side is that that means we get to tear it all up top to bottom and I get to put my own twist on every little detail, which is super exciting as a designer. I'll be sharing the entire process, including befores and afters on the blog, wait till you see the transformation. The best part is since I am my own client I'll be able to share all my sources which means you'll easily be able to get the look in your home as well.

To get the ball rolling I'm sharing my overall mood board for the entire home. As you probably could have guessed there will be lots of black, white, woods and metallics. I'll be sharing more specific mood boards of each room in the coming weeks as well. For now I hope this little teaser wets your appetite and gets you excited for what's to come.

{J. Marx Atelier} Office Space

I am so excited to share these final photos of the TMG Office Space shot by Kimberly Genevieve. This was such a terrific project to work on,  I had a lot of creative freedom when it came to the design. I had a great time collaborating with a few artists on some large scale installations. This Means Mar painted a really amazing piece over the bar and Jessica of Bramble Workshop created the most stunning 3D wood sculpture in the lobby. Be sure to check out many more photos of this and other projects here
