To Think of You...

The first thing my husband ever wrote to me was an inscription in a birthday card. We had only known each other for a few weeks at the time, but it was the perfect sentiment to express how he felt about me... "to think of you is to smile". Recently I worked with Breanna Rose, a talented graphic designer (who also designed my company logo and blog header) to create this little print to gift to my husband for Valentine's Day. I thought it was too special not to share, so I am offering a limited number of this fantastic print on my etsy shop. The print was hand lettered by Bre and printed on 110lb cotton lettra paper. It comes in 2 color-ways for now, white text on black (shown above) and black text on white. It's the perfect gift for a husband, wife, child or friend. Get them while they're hot!!

A past client contacted me recently with some good news... her and her husband were expecting a baby girl in just a few months. She wanted my help to pull things together in the spare guest room and create a lovely nursery for her newborn. We decided to go with these lavender tones which are certainly girlie, but more unexpected than traditional pastel pink. The palette and decor compliment the rest of their home perfectly, slightly traditional slightly whimsical. You can see more moodboards of other rooms in their fabulous home here.

If you've been following me on twitter or instagram recently you may have noticed my frequent travels to Vegas over the last few months. While I've been revealing bits and pieces of my current work in progress over social media, I am so excited to finally share the almost finished product. Here are small details of what turned out to be one magnificent home. I'm so happy with the way everything turned out. I love all the custom furniture I designed and lux finishes I selected, did you see that custom upholstered leather wall??!! One of the best pieces actually didn't make it in time to be photographed... a custom Kelly Wearstler Rug, for The Rug Company, GORGEOUS! Anyway, I hope you enjoy these snippets of my work, there are many more images at J. Marx Atelier to pour over.

A long time family friend recently told me that they were going to be opening up a fashion boutique for their custom fashion line in India. They asked for my advice trying to come up with an overall design concept for the store. I was so excited at all the endless possibilities and options running through my mind. I finally consolidated what was in my head, and I threw this pretty little mood board together to show them. I'm so in LOVE with the way it turned out... I just had to share all the pretty goodness.

On another note I've been super busy with many other fun projects, stay tuned for some sneak peeks.

{J. Marx Atelier} A Girly Dream

While I was in Montreal this past summer my cousin asked for a little help redecorating her room. She is one of three girls... a triplet to be exact, and she was the only one that hadn't decorated her own space. I quickly made a mood board and hit some amazing stores, vintage and new. This is what the final room looks like, while I don't have actual photos of the space yet, this gives a pretty accurate feel. It's super pretty, super femanine, and classically timeless, I'm sort of jealous of this dreamy bedroom.

A New Look

I'm sure you've noticed a little make-over that happened recently here on the blog and over at J.Marx Atelier. I'm beyond thrilled with the new branding, all this pretty eye candy is thanks to a wonderfully talented graphic designer named Breanna Rose. I found her through social media, and the second I saw her portfolio I knew she was the designer for me. I originally hired her to create a new logo and business cards for my design business, but I was so thrilled with her work that I came back and asked for a new blog header too. I hope you're in love with the design as much as I am. You can check out more of Bre's work on her blog.

I also can't wait to share the new business cards... they are being printed this week. eek!!!
