I absolutely adore these fun whimsical illustrated animal prints by Leah Duncan. I would frame all these gorgeous prints as a pretty little animal gallery.... so sweet.

It's a zoo in here!

I'm so excited to share a few of my favorite new items from Lifes's Little Jems | The Shoppe. There are so many wonderful animals if I could I'd keep them all and start my own little golden zoo. Hurry over and check out the new pieces before they are all gone. These little creatures would also make for a fabulous holiday gift!

Tag... you're sit!

Last week, with 30 plus people coming over for Thanksgiving, I was on a serious folding chair hunt. While these weren't quite right, I fell in love with them anyway. These oversized label tag chairs designed by Felix Guyon of La Firme Design are too cool. I love that they fold up so neatly and are perfect for stacking, or they can also be used as art. So fun!

Absolutely Marbelous

This past weekend I stumbled on this gorgeous hand marbled wood flooring on Pinterest that took my breath away. Danish designer Pernille Snedker Hansen of snedker studio used an old Japanese marbleizing technique to give a basic pine flooring some extra life. Her technique is so stunning and it really enhances the organic pattern and grain of wood.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I spend every Thanksgiving with my family and it's always one of my favorite days of the year. I'm always in charge of dessert and I have a few fun new recipes to try out this year. Usually it's just our immediate family, but this year there are going to be close to 30 people, so my mum and I have been running around trying to put it all together. We also have a new table-scape concept that I'm totally loving. Here is a sneak peek of our untraditional Thanksgiving color scheme... blush, silver, copper, and sparkle.

I'm going to take the rest of the week off to spend time with family and friends, but I'll be back Monday with many more little gems.

Happy Thanksgiving! xo

Smitten with Smitten

A few months ago my husband and I took a trip up north to visit my brother in Berkeley. While we were there we decided to take a little day trip into San Francisco where we stumbled upon the mother of all ice cream shops... Smitten Ice Cream. What was once an old shipping crate has now been converted to a magical little shop where ice cream is made to order right before your very eyes. It was so delicious, I just couldn't get enough, we went back 3 times. Well, recently my brother purchased a tasting for Smitten from Gilt City where he and his friend snapped a few photos of this lovely shop and it's tasty product. I'm so jealous, I can't wait to go back and try some more seasonal flavors.

Have a wonderfully sweet weekend!!!

blabla... not so blah

I recently discovered this too cute for words kids line called blabla. The striped sweaters, cozy blankets, and fuzzy hats and booties are so bright and fun, I just love it all. They are most known for the knit blabla dolls, what a fun group of characters.

love is in the hair

I'm completely wiggin' out over these gorgeous hair pieces designed by Delfina Delettrez to display her Spring 2012 jewelry collection in Paris. These gorgeous works of art were created by a wig shop in Rome that supplies wigs for the opera. My parents actually got to see these masterpieces first hand in Paris while they were displayed in Colette's store windows. I'm so jealous.

Versace for H&M

As much as I feel like I just don't have it in me to wake up in the middle of the night for another designer collaboration there are a few pretty Versace for H&M dresses that are calling my name. How adorable are these little frocks, perfect for a night on the town?!? Will you be out there Nov. 19th shopping with other frenzied fashonistas?

Hotel Lautner + Happy Weekend

I can't believe it's Friday already... this week has just flown by. Thankfully after a completely hectic week I have a little relaxing getaway planned with a few childhood friends and their families to Palm Springs. Just what the doctor ordered. I can't wait to spend time with family and friends out of the city enjoying a little sunshine.

Since I'll be headed to the desert I thought I'd leave you with these gorgeous images of the Hotel Lautner. A few years ago this metal sculptor/ furniture designer I worked with mentioned that he and his partner had bought what was formally known as The John Lautner’s Desert Hot Springs Motel, originally built in 1947. They were in the process of renovating this modern gem and bringing it back to life. I absolutely love what they've done with the place. Perhaps I'll check us in one of these days.

Have a relaxing weekend! xo
