De Farine & d'eau Fraîche

I just got back from my latest trip to Montreal, where I had the best time. Fresh maple syrup tasting, a day at the water park, and fabulous vintage shopping were just a few of the activities I enjoyed in the perfect summer weather. Most of all, I was beyond excited to discover a secret little gem of a street filled with vintage treasures. One of which I just could not pass up... but more on that later. While we were shopping I built up quite an appetite and thankfully we stumbled upon this sweet little restaurant that I just had to share, De Farine et d'eau Fraîche. Everything was so fresh and delicious... the salads, the brownies, and salted caramel were perfection.

{J.Marx Atelier} SHOEDAZZLE

You may remember this post I did a while back of a mood board for a project I was working on called Shoedazzle. Well, it's finally coming together and there are just a few minor touches left so I thought I would share a sneak peek of the entry lobby. I LOVE the way it turned out, full of pops of pink, neon signage, and some fabulous shoes. That back mural was custom painted by Jennifer Rae Ochs, a fabulous local artist. I can't wait to share more, but for now here's just a taste of what's to come, enjoy.

A Touch of Velvet

I recently stumbled upon these AMAZING velvet bow ties and I thought they were way too fabulous not to share. Boutaugh has the most wonderful little pieces of neck decor for men that I've seen in a while. I'd love to own a few of these to throw on a blazer or in my hair.

While I was in New York last week for business I had a night off to meet up with a good friend who moved out there a few years ago. Neither of us had a strong opinion on where to eat, but I was staying in Soho so we figured we would just walk around and eventually find something... and boy did we ever! We had the absolute pleasure of eating at Boqueria, a Spanish Tapas restaurant. My mouth is still watering thinking about those tasty tapas... especially the Patatas Bravas and the Churros con Chocolate. My friend and I spent almost 3 hours enjoying almost everything on the menu. If you're in or around the city I highly recommend a trip over there.

Have a great weekend!

Happy 4th!

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely holiday. While I'm not in the USA to celebrate I'm still dreaming of a lovely beach day filled with hotdogs, watermelon, and fireworks. Happy 4th of July!!!

A Visit North

So, I realize I've been a busy bee lately with an insane travel schedule... but I just left for my final trip planned for the summer, Montreal. This trip is purely for pleasure, and boy do I need it. I'm taking a little vacation to visit some friends and family and I can't wait to relax and enjoy all of what this amazing city has to offer, especially the smoked meat and bagels.

I love these vintage Canadian tourism ads, and thought they would be a perfect intro to my week away. By the way I hope you enjoyed a Happy Canada Day yesterday, I know I sure did!

Palm Springs...

... we sweat, we swam, we tanned.  I'm finally back home and back to work, the madness never seems to end. This last week has been a complete whirlwind but both my out of town excursions were a blast! I feel so lucky to have a job that allows me to have flexible hours and travel around the world for work. Here are a few snapshots from our Palm Springs mini anniversary vacation taken with our  Fujifilm Instax Mini Camera

Have a wonderful weekend full of fun adventures!!
