A New Look

I'm sure you've noticed a little make-over that happened recently here on the blog and over at J.Marx Atelier. I'm beyond thrilled with the new branding, all this pretty eye candy is thanks to a wonderfully talented graphic designer named Breanna Rose. I found her through social media, and the second I saw her portfolio I knew she was the designer for me. I originally hired her to create a new logo and business cards for my design business, but I was so thrilled with her work that I came back and asked for a new blog header too. I hope you're in love with the design as much as I am. You can check out more of Bre's work on her blog

I also can't wait to share the new business cards... they are being printed this week. eek!!!

Give Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so excited to spend a few days away from work with family and food. I wanted to share a pretty holiday tablescape inspiration board to help you create a lovely Thanksgiving table of your own. I love these fall colors inspired by fall fashion trends. Enjoy and happy holidays!

Follow Me: Instajem

Finally, after many years of holding out I upgraded to an iPhone. One of the best things about the switch means finally being able to join instagram. If you're not following me already you can follow me here: @Little_JEM. These are just a few of my recent snaps just to give you a taste.

Our House

A little while back I posted this inspiration board for a redesign of our living room. Everything seemed so perfect, but I just kept fussing with the sofa option. Then one day I stumbled upon this little gem from Organic Modernism, ya know the place I mentioned on Tuesday, and I fell head over heels. It was the perfect piece to fill the void... but that meant a few other pieces had to be swapped out too. I'm pretty happy with the results. I think this is the final design, at least for now. And do you remember when I went to Montreal a few months ago and I mentioned I picked up a great vintage piece, well, that amazing brass lotus lamp has traveled a long way to join us, and I love her very much. I can't wait for this room to be done.

Check out my Houzz Ideabook here for more info on where to purchase many of these items.

Organic Modernism

You may remember this post from last year where I mentioned a new brand called Organic Modernism. Over the last year and a half they have designed some pretty incredible pieces that keep my heart racing. What I love most about the brand is that every piece is not only incredibly well designed, but also completely affordable. While New York has an overwhelming number of OM stores we in la LA were sadly left to internet shopping... that is until now. I'm so excited to announce that we now have our very own OM close by. I also may or may not have bought a pretty substantial piece for our living room there, but more on that later. If you live in or near LA I suggest you get your booty over there and check out all of the greatness asap. These are just a few of my favorites, but there is so much more eye candy here

{J. Marx Atelier} A Dazzling Sight

Here are some final images of Shoedazzle photographed by Tim Melideo for Glitter Guide. This has to be one of my favorite projects ever. I love the clean black and white palette with the magical pops on neon pink. Check out the evolution here and here. Visit here for more images of this and other projects.

{J. Marx Atelier} Vignettes of Vignette

I thought this week I would give you some inside peeks on a few projects that kept me super busy this summer. This first project is a nightclub/ lounge I designed with ICRAVE in West Hollywood, CA called Vignette Lounge. The space was designed to look and feel like a vintage Hollywood theatre. The concept was to take iconic details for the backstage and front of house of historic theatres and blend them together. I love all the details that helped make this space come to life. Visit J. Marx Atelier for more images.
