Monumenta 2011

While we were away my husband and I visited countless museums and inspiring sights... but none quite as extraordinary as the Monumenta 2011 exhibit by Anish Kapoor at the Grand Palais. One of my favorite and most talented installation artists happened to be exhibiting in Paris at the same time we were there, and I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to be fortunate enough to experience it. It's quite difficult to explain just how mind blowing it was to walk through the doors of this historic building and see the largest inflated object (35 meters tall) I've every seen. Not only was it incredible to just see it from the outside, but then we were able to go right on in. It was absolutely breathtaking. Kapoor dedicated the exhibit to Chinese activist and artist Ai Weiwei to raise awareness for his unjust detention by the Chinese Government.

chic baby

While we were on our way home from our trip, one of our closest friends gave birth to her first child, the cutest little baby girl. The whole time we were in Paris I kept eyeing this adorable French children's boutique, Bonpoint, wishing my friend would have the baby as soon as possible. There were so many gorgeous outfits... if I only knew the sex. I left Paris empty handed, but fortunately they have a store in Los Angeles, I can't wait to dress this little doll up!

i've been rue'd

I just got back from the most magical vacation with my husband... and while I have so many fun images to share with you all, I thought I'd share some other REALLY big news first. On Monday, the fifth issue of RUE, a fabulous on-line magazine came out. And while this summer issue was full of gorgeous eye candy there is one feature that I am over the moon about... Yup, that's me! I could not have been more flattered and honored to be selected as one of the summer home tours. Here are a few more images that didn't quite make the cut, but I thought were totally worth sharing with all of you. Bethany Nauert is an unbelievable photographer, not to mention the sweetest person. I hope you all enjoy the article much as I did... now quickly go check out p.148-157 if you haven't already.

On a side note I also helped interior/prop style the Summer Lovin' cover shoot, p.68-83, which was a complete blast. And I happened to make another appearance on p. 179, yes that's me in the center with a blue butterfly mask on.

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! xoxo

{on holiday} paris, france

Paris! There is so much to do here I'm not sure where to begin, perhaps with a nice walk to the Louvre, which I can see from our hotel room. Then maybe a picnic in the park. I truly feel so grateful to share this experience with my best friend. I never want to leave.

{on holiday} lake como, italy

Lake Como is the last stop on our little Italian adventure (but wait till you see what's next). This perfect little lake-side town has a special place in my heart and I can't wait to share it with my man. I lived here for 6 months in college while studying architecture, it was such an incredible experience to attend class in a giant villa each morning. I especially love the mix of colorful Italian hillside architecture with the clean modern lines of what used to be fascist government buildings.
