During one of our many trips to target this past weekend we stumbled upon Urban Home, a consignment store in Berkeley, CA. They had some really great vintage mid century modern pieces, all reasonably priced. If you're in the area it's totally worth checking out. I highly suggest that if you see something you love to just buy it, because it may not be there the next time you show up.
This amazingly delicious new bakery opened in downtown Berkeley a few months ago called Cinnaholic. Not only are these gourmet cinnamon buns baked to perfection, but they are also made from all natural and vegan ingredients... yummy!!!
Not only did we make multiple trips to ikea and Target this weekend while furnishing my brothers apartment, but we also frequented this unbelievable new restaurant in Berkeley, CA, called Gather. The service, design, food and presentation were all so amazing we went back 3 times. The restaurant itself is stunning, there are reclaimed and recycled materials throughout the space. I love the recycled cardboard art piece shown above, the reused vintage leather belt strap benches, and old wine bottle and fish net light fixtures. The pizzas and salads are to die for, and all the fruits and vegetables come fresh from local organic farms. I would have to say it was one of the best restaurants I've ever been to.
We just got back from moving my brother into his new apartment in Berkeley, CA. Within 72 hours we selected furniture (mostly from ikea), built furniture, and organized the entire apartment, needless to say we were all exhausted by the end of the trip. Here are a few images of how the space turned out... we hope it helps to inspire and motivate him to do well.
I'm saying bye a little early this week because my family and I are going up north to help my brother furnish and move into his new apartment in Berkeley.
Although I am flying north, I wouldn't mind driving south to the Pearl Hotel either, a beautiful mid-century modern San Diego hotel. I love the vintage aesthetic, and the outdoor theater where they screen old movies every week... how fun!
Have a great weekend!!!
The cake topper is often one of the last items on a wedding to do list, but it should still be something that reflects the couples style and personalities. Here are a few stylish little pieces I found on etsy.
I picked up one of these sassy CRAVE guide books this weekend. These uber-cool new guide books include shopping, pampering and dining suggestions. I can't wait to go visit all the amazing places they recommend in Los Angeles. They also have guide books for many other cities world-wide.
Lovin' these new grosgrain Toms sold exclusivly at Neiman Marcus. Not only are Toms the most comforatble summer shoes, but buying a pair of these shoes also helps support a great cause. Toms Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.
